Ryan Dempster, Ivan Nova, James McDonald and Jordan Zimmerman all had one stat in common, but only three of them had a different stat in common.

What are they?

Congratulations to George Kirschenbaum and Greg Simons who correctly answered our What’s the stat? Hot Stove feature:

Chipper JonesJustin Ruggiano, and Seth Smith each did it in the 2012 season and for Jones it was the second time he had done it. What did they do?

Here’s a clue: Mel Ott did it four times, more than anyone else.

They all had 23 doubles.

All four were 12-8, but McDonald had “only” 151 strikeouts while Dempster, Nova and Zimmermann (double-n) each whiffed 153 batters.

They all had 12-8 records with 153 K’s, but McDonald had 152 K’s.

Should have been 151 K’s, late by 45 mins. Story of my life.
