Davey Johnson wins a fishing tournament

Mike Licht, Billy-Ball’s Senior Ichthyology Correspondent brought us this story as reported in the Washington Post.

Davey Johnson, waiting for a new contract as manager of the Washington Nationals, has been spending his time fruitfully. According to the Florida Sportsman, Johnson competed in the Redbone tournament in Islamorada, Fla., and was named celebrity grand champion.

Johnson released three redfish on artificial and one bonefish on bait to be named celebrity grand champion. A resident of Winter Park, Fla., Johnson fished with Islamorada’s Captain Paul Tejera.

There are no reports as to whether Stephen Strasburg was stopped after too many casts.
