Sign of the Apocalypse: Chone Figgins homers

Chone Figgins hit a homer for the Mariners tonight breaking a streak of 402 at bats without a homer.

Juan Pierre‘s streak however is still alive at 789 homerless at bats, the longest amongst active players.

For Figgins it was his first home run since last Sept. 22 when a two-run dinger off Chicago starter Mark Buehrle.

It was the first right-handed home run for Figgins since July 7, 2006 off Barry Zito.
