Comeback Player of the Year?

When the discussion of Comeback Player of the Year arises you have to give some thought to Aubrey Huff. The guy has had a terrific season for the Giants following a weak season with Baltimore and Detroit last year.

In 150 games for those two teams last year, Huff hit .241 with 15 homers and 85 RBI. He had an OPS of .694. This season, despite playing half his games in a pitching friendly ballpark, Huff has hit .295 with 21 homers and 70 RBI in 120 games. His OPS is a great .911. He is also 5-for-5 in steal attempts this season after going 0-for-6 last year.

With a 5.0 Wins Above Replacement ranking you can also see that the Giants, even with their great pitching, wouldn’t even be in the Wild Card hunt.
