C.J. Wilson triples and gets the win

There is something neat about seeing AL pitchers actually have to hit. Some are flailing, while others actually do something cool, like Texas Rangers starter C.J. Wilson in last night’s 7-3 win over the Hapless Astros. Wilson had been 0 for 5 as a hitter over his five plus AL career before he tripled to deep center to start the Rangers’ 3rd inning rally.

Houston has lost four in a row overall and seven of eight and manager Brad Mills should not be starting any long-term magazine subscriptions to his current address.

It was only the second triple by a Rangers pitcher since the club moved to Texas in 1972. Kenny Rogers had the other in 2005 against Florida.
