Braves walkoff

Freddie Freeman singled to right to drive in Martin Prado from second  and gave Atlanta a 9-8 walkoff win over the Nationals. Ryan Mattheus (2-1) walked pinch-hitter Brooks Conrad to start the bottom of the 9th, but Conrad was thrown out at third on Prado’s grounder to short after he had been bunted to second. Prado the stole second, Brian McCann was intentionally passed and Freeman delivered.

Jair Jurrjens gave up a season-high six runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings.

Atlanta is now 5-4 in walkoff games this season and the Nationals are 7-4.
