According to the folks at, this is Red Sox owner John Henry‘s new digs. The title of the piece is Billionaire Red Sox Owner John Henry is Building a Monstrosity.

In 2006, Henry paid $16M for a 6.3-acre plot with a 13,000-square-foot Georgian estate built by Dodger owner Frank McCourt in the Boston suburb of Brookline, Mass (where I live).  He  knock down McCourt’s place and replaced it with a 35,000-square-foot shingle-style spread which includes a home theater with lobby, a two-story garage with space for eight cars, a safe room, a sports lounge for watching his Sox, two kitchens, a massive swimming pool, and a “grotto.” Henry himself estimated the cost of construction at $10M, bringing the total outlay to something like $26M.

Yeah, it’s a good thing the Tea Party fought hard to keep the Bush tax cuts for the uber-wealthy.
