The Vladimir Guerrero minor league trial with the Blue Jays is over

Like a little baby Blue Jay, Vladimir Guerrero has decided to fly from the nest.

According to the, the Jays have confirmed that Guerrero has been released from his minor-league contract at his request. According to the reports, Guerrero left Toronto’s Triple-A team in Las Vegas following Monday night’s game against Tucson where he went 4-for-5, including a triple. He joined the 51s on June 2 and through eight games was hitting .303 (10-for-33).

Guerrero reportedly told management that he was not getting the opportunity he expected in terms of making it back to the majors. However, this may have a lot to do with Guerrero seeking a MLB contract with MLB pay after it was revealed in court documents filed in a paternity suit against the 37-year old octo-dad that he has fathered eight children by five different women.

The legal documents, filed against him by one of the mothers, show that child support is costing Guerrero just over $25,000 a month.
