Are the Phillies or the Brewers the 2011 Cardinals?

The National League Wild Card race is really getting interesting.

The Phils won their sixth straight last night as they topped the Marlins, 9-7. Jimmy Rollins homered and Roy Halladay won his 10th of the season and is now 4-0 in his last five starts.

Meanwhile, Marco Estrada pitched shutout ball into the 7th inning, and Rickie Weeks and Aramis Ramirez homered as the Brewers beat the Braves, 5-0. The Brewers have now won eight straight at home and have won 17-0f-22 overall.

The Pirates continued to stumble as the Reds continued to steamroll to the NL Central title and the best record in baseball with Brandon Phillips homering as Cincy topped the Bucs, 5-3.

St. Louis has a precarious one-game lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers for the NL’s second wild-card berth but last night against the Padres they were just 1-for-14 with runners in scoring position and stranded 13 runners, losing to the Padres, 6-4. The Cardinals have lost seven of their past eight road games.

Arizona’s Ian Kennedy pitched into the 8th inning and the Diamondbacks scored an unearned run to beat Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angeles Dodgers, 1-0.

Madison Bumgarner  hit a three-run homer but did not earn the win but his San Francisco Giants did topping the Colorado Rockies, 9-8.
