The Orioles blink first

No team likes to play a doubleheader, particularly in September…amidst a pennant race. But the Orioles were stuck with a Mother Nature induced twin bill yesterday against the Blue Jays and given the the three possible outcomes, they have to be relatively happy with a split.

They won the opener, 4-1, but lost the nightcap, 9-5. Paired with the Yankee 6-3 win in Minnesota, the Orioles fell 1.5 games back in the AL East, the largest separation between the two teams since Baltimore trailed by two games on September 2.

The O’s have now dropped two-of-three following a six-game winning streak.
