- The Nationals’ Roger Bernadina has made 14 PA this season and has gone 0-for-13 with one RBI and one walk. He’s whiffed six times.
- The A’s lead the majors with 19 1st inning runs. The Marlins have only scored one 1st inning run this season.
- The Twins have allowed 17 1st inning runs. The Tigers have allowed none.
- David Price has allowed 15 two-outs this season and 11 two-outs runs, both the most in the majors.
- Austin Jackson has led off 12 innings with base hits, the most in the majors. Carl Crawford and Coco Crisp are next with 11 leadoff hits.
- Mark Kotsay, Laynce Nix, and Jack Hannahan are all 4-for-8 as a pinch-hitter. Nix has two pinch-homers, so do Dioner Navarro and Rick Ankiel.
- Jay Bruce, Mike Napoli, and Brandon Phillips all have three bases-loaded hits. Napoli leads withe seven bases-loaded RBI.
- Red Sox pitchers lead the majors with 66 strikeouts with runners on base. Jays pitchers lead the majors with 41 whiffs with RISP.
- Clean-up batters are hitting .357 against Pirates pitchers, but just .132 against the Royals staff.
