Maybe it’s an “R” thing but the Reds, Royals, and the Rangers are the only teams with two 18+ hit games this season.

You may have noticed that all the teams that picked up 18 hits were winners this season. The Jays and the White Sox each lost games this season in which they picked up 17 hits and the Cardinals and Brewers each had 16 hits in a losing cause.

The honor for most losses in a season since 1916, for a team that had at least 18 in games, belongs to the 1936 Cleveland Indians who dropped four such contests. But before you think that losing with 18+ hits is a thing of the past, the 2012 Red Sox lost three of those contests last season.
