In a Puig of his own

The legend is growing.

The Dodgers are now 3-1 since Yasiel Puig was promoted from Double A ball this week.

Last night, the Dodgers topped the Braves, 5-0, and while the story could have been about Zack Greinke tossing seven scoreless innings, the L.A. story is Puig’s first major league grand slam.

Puig singled in his first at-bat and then hit his slam in the 8th as manager Don Mattingly and Adrian Gonzalez joked that Puig would go deep.

“We were all thinking the same thing, we just didn’t think it would happen on the first pitch,” catcher Tim Federowicz said. “He’s a special player.”

It was the third multi-hit performance in four games for Puig. He has three homers and nine RBI.

And the madness has begun with the Dodgers selling Yasiel Puig shirts in their team store and he and Adrian Gonzalez shot a promo for the Dodgers.
