Jose Altuve & Tony Wolters missed the cycle by a triple – that makes 124 for the season
The Astros’ great second baseman Jose Altuve went 4-5 yesterday against the Royals. He had a single, double and homer and missed the missed the cycle when he tripped heading to second base on his way to a triple.
Altuve’s trip, not triple
Different looks, different announcers, read Jose’s lips.
And also yesterday, Colorado’s Tony Wolters hit his first major league homer and and had a double and a single as the Rockies throttled the Diamondbacks.
That now makes 124 times this season that a player has fallen a triple shy of the cycle, which means shouldn’t we stop pointing it out?
20 players this season have missed the cycle by a triple more than once this season
