Hitters

  • Miguel Rojas led the majors by hitting into 27 double plays. Rojas was followed by Yuli Gurriel and Manny Machado who each banged into 26.
  • Christian Yelich led the majors hitting into 13 no out double plays.
  • Inning ending double play leaders: Yangervis Solarte (20), Salvador Perez, Miguel Rojas, Jesus Aguilar, Manny Machado (17 each).
  • Adam Jones and Yuli Gurriel led the majors each hitting into nine DPs with runners on first and second. D.J. LeMahieu led the majors hitting into six DPs with runners on first and second and one out.
  • Andrelton Simmons and Jesus Aguilar each hit into four double plays with runners on first and third. Aguilar led the majors hitting into four when there were one out.
  • Dee Gordon led the majors hitting into six DPS with the bases loaded and led with five bases loaded double plays with one out.
  • Matt Kemp was the only player to hit into two DPS with runners on second and third.
  • Yuli Gurriel led the majors hitting into 14 double plays with runners in scoring position.

Pitching

  • Cole Hamels led all pitchers producing 29 double plays. Hamels was followed by Kyle Freeland (26) and Mike Leake (25).
  • Jake Arrieta produced 20 double plays with a runner on first, the most in the majors.
  • Yovani Gallardo led the majors inducing eight DPs with runners on first and second.
  • Andrew Cashner and Alex Cobb led the majors with five twin killings with runners on first and third.
  • Brad Ziegler and Zack Wheeler each had four bases loaded DPs.
  • Cole Hamels led the majors by throwing 21 inning-ending double plays. Hamels was followed by Mike Leake and Miles Mikolas who each produced 17 inning-enders.
